Submissions

Idle Muse Theatre Company accepts unsolicited headshots and resumes for all production roles at the below email address. Due to the volume of submissions, materials received in this manner will not receive a personal response, but will be added to our file, as well as our email distribution list for tech and casting calls.

Idle Muse accepts unsolicited submissions of manuscripts for production consideration that fit our mission statement at the below email address. Materials submitted in this manner should include a playwright's statement explaining how the submitted text connects with this mission, and how it fits with the three core production principles of "Transporting. Timely. True."  Due to the volume of submissions received and the demands of producing our season, Idle Muse cannot guarantee all scripts will be read or commit to a timeframe for response.

Although the core production principle of “Transporting” can be interpreted in many ways, in the context of Idle Muse’s script selections this most often means texts which remove the audience from their time and place through the inclusion of a historical or fantastical setting. Scripts which require significant stretching of that definition to meet this requirement, or which are otherwise conceptually “transporting,” are probably not a good fit for Idle Muse.
